      Resolve the BzSelfExtractor Error

        If you install Backblaze Computer Backup on a Windows computer, you may receive the following two messages in sequence:

        • BzSelfExtractor_Unzip: could not append to file: bztransmit.exe
        • RunCommand, Create pipe failed, err = B

        This error indicates that the security software on your computer (such as a firewall or antivirus software) is interfering with the installation process.

        1. Restart your computer.
        2. Wait a few minutes, and run the installer again.
        3. If the issue persists, temporarily disable security software on your computer.
        4. Run the installer again.
        5. If this does not resolve the error, contact Backblaze Support.
        6. If this does resolve the error, you can re-enable your security software.

        If the issue reoccurs, check the settings in your security software to ensure that it will not interfere with the normal operation of Computer Backup.
