Depending on its configuration, Avast's firewall may block Backblaze from operating correctly.

    1. Open the Avast panel.
    2. Click Tools, and click Firewall.
    3. Click Application Rules.
    4. Click New Group, and enter the name Backblaze.
    5. Click New Application Rule, and select the Backblaze group that you just created.
    6. Select the file named bztransmit.exe or bztransmit64.exe, and click Open.
      • For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Backblaze\bztransmit.exe
      • For Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Backblaze\bztransmit.exe
      • For Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Backblaze\bztransmit64.exe
If you do not know whether your version of Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, select both bztransmit.exe and bztransmit64.exe separately.
    7. Adjust the orange scale bar to allow All Connections.
    8. Click Close, and dismiss all Avast windows.
