Depending on its configuration, Avast's firewall may block Backblaze from operating correctly.
- Open the Avast panel.
- Click Tools, and click Firewall.
- Click Application Rules.
- Click New Group, and enter the name Backblaze.
- Click New Application Rule, and select the Backblaze group that you just created.
- Select the file named bztransmit.exe or bztransmit64.exe, and click Open.
- For Windows XP:
C:\Program Files\Backblaze\bztransmit.exe
- For Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 32-bit:
C:\Program Files\Backblaze\bztransmit.exe
- For Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 64-bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Backblaze\bztransmit64.exe
If you do not know whether your version of Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, select both bztransmit.exe and bztransmit64.exe separately.
- For Windows XP:
- Adjust the orange scale bar to allow All Connections.
- Click Close, and dismiss all Avast windows.
