    Article summary

If you enabled Extended Version History on your Backblaze Computer Backup account and you need to cycle your data out before the time that is designated by your Extended Version History, you can downgrade your Version History either permanently or temporarily.

    Note
At this time, Backblaze does not support the ability to manually delete individual files from your backup. You can exclude file types and folders from future backups by setting your exclusion settings. The only way to immediately remove files from the backup is to delete the backup.

    Downgrade Version History

If you use Forever Extended Version History, you can downgrade to One-Year Version History to remove all of the files that backed up more than one year ago. If you use either Forever Extended Version History or One-Year Version History, you can downgrade to 30-Day Version History to remove all of the files that backed up more than one year ago. This applies to data that is backed up to external drives as well as your computer.

    1. Sign in to the Backblaze web console.
    2. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Overview.
    3. Locate the backup that you want to change.
    4. Under Version History, select Change.
    5. Select One Year or 30 Days to downgrade your Version History.
Billing for the account is reset to reflect the new Version History selection.
