USB Restore Drive Size

When you order a USB restore hard drive from Backblaze, the size of your restore determines the size of the hard drive that you receive. Backblaze stocks a variety of drive sizes from 1 to 8 TBs, so the minimum size of a hard drive restore is 1 TB. Occasionally, Backblaze sends a larger drive depending on inventory. If your restore data is larger than 8 TB, you can order multiple USB restores, each with a portion of the total data.
All drives use the USB 3 specification with standard USB Type A plugs. Drives up to 4 TB in size are powered by the USB cable, so they do not need a power adapter to function. Eight TB drives come with a power adapter that is compatible with the power sockets that are used in the United States. The adapter supports power systems up to 240 volts, so it can be used in non-North American locations if used with an appropriate plug adapter. If you plan to use the drive in a country outside of North America, you can order two 4 TB restores instead of a single 8 TB restore to avoid compatibility issues with the 8 TB drive's power adapter.
