    Article summary

If you use macOS Catalina or newer, the Apple TV application is typically used to watch movies and TV shows. If you save movies and TV shows on your Mac, the files are stored in your Mac's file system. This data is typically backed up by Backblaze Computer Backup, and you can recover these files from your online backup just like any other files.

    1. Sign in to the Backblaze web console..
    2. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, and click View/Restore Files.
    3. Select a restore method.
    4. Scroll to the file viewer at the bottom of the page, and click through the following paths to locate your Apple TV and Movies data:
      • For movies: ~/Movies/TV/meda.localized/Movies
      • For TV: ~/Movies/TV/meda.localized/Tv Shows
    5. Select the folders, and click Continue with Restore.
    6. Drag the files from the restore that you created to the appropriate folders on your computer.
    7. Open Apple TV to verify whether all of the data was restored correctly.
