    Each new installation of the Backblaze Backup Client creates a unique ID and backup. This prevents a new installation or reinstallation of the Backup Client from accidentally overwriting an existing backup. This new installation runs as a 15-day trial and begins a new initial backup. When this trial is nearing expiration, you receive an alert.

    Transfer a License or Inherit a Backup State to Resolve an Expired Trial

    Complete one of the following procedures depending on your use case:

    Verify your Email Address

    If the above actions do not resolve the licensing, complete the following procedure.

    1. Locate the email address with which you installed the Backup Client.
    2. Sign in to the Backblaze web console with the email address that you located in the Backup Client.
    3. Verify whether the computer is displayed and whether there is an unused license.

    If you are unable to sign in, the subscription may have been paid with a different email address. Try alternate email addresses.
