Migrate Data with Migration Assistant

If you have a Mac computer and want to use the Migration Assistant software to move your files to a new computer, you should follow these steps first to ensure that Backblaze Computer Backup does not encounter a safety freeze.

1. Open the Backblaze Backup client for your specific operation system.
   • Preferences (Mac)
   • Control Panel (Windows)
2. Click Settings, and select the Schedule tab.
3. In the Backup Schedule menu, select Only when I click <Backup Now>.
4. Click OK.
5. Use Migration Assistant to move your files from your old computer to your new computer.
6. Uninstall the Backblaze client on your old computer.
7. Install the Backblaze client on your new computer.
8. On your new computer, open the Backblaze Backup client, click Settings, and select the Schedule tab.
9. In the Backup Schedule menu, select Continuously (Recommended) or your desired option.
10. Click OK.
