Backblaze B2 offers all customers free egress up to 3x your monthly average storage amount, with any egress above this amount billed a simple $0.01/GB. What’s more, Backblaze B2 offers unlimited free egress via a number of Backblaze CDN and Compute technology partners including Fastly, Cloudflare, and Vultr. Amazon S3 Standard customers receive 100GB of data transfer out to the internet free each month, aggregated across all AWS services and regions except China and GovCloud. You can incur fees for moving data to other AWS services. Also, rates can vary by region and amount of data moved so you’ll want to do your diligence based on your use case and needs.
Yes, Backblaze offers Universal Data Migration to support data migration from a range of sources, including cloud-to-cloud migration from Amazon S3 Standard storage.
Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage customers can enjoy free Universal Data Migration–yes, we really do take on the data transfer and egress fees–for inbound migrations on >50TB committed pay-as-you-go contracts and all B2 Reserve capacity bundles.

Vendor lock-in is a situation in which a customer becomes dependent on a service provider such that it is difficult for them to switch to a different service provider without significant switching cost. Backblaze B2 avoids this by taking an open approach that works with ranging tech stacks and vendors, thereby allowing for easier, flexible workflow integration.
