Identify Users with Full Disk Access (Mac)

Apple included new privacy and security updates with macOS 10.14 Mojave. As a result, all third-party applications must be granted Full Disk Access to interact with files from Apple-specific applications. Without Full Disk Access, Backblaze Computer Backup cannot back up these files.

Identify Accounts with Full Disk Access
Using your Group admin account, you can view the usage report to locate the Mac users who granted full disk access to Backblaze.
- Sign in to the Backblaze web console.
- In the left navigation menu under Business Groups, click Users/Computers.
- Click Download User Stats CSV.
The last column of your usage report is named full disk access granted_problems reading disk
. The value yes_none
indicates that the Backblaze Backup Client is able to back up files from Apple-specific applications. A blank value or a no_(series of numbers and/or letters)
value indicates that one of the following conditions are true:
- The user did not update their Backup Client to version 7.0.2.464 or newer.
- The user did not update their operating system to MacOS 10.14 Mojave or newer.
- The user updated both their operating system and the Backup Client, but they did not grant full disk access to Backblaze.
