Backblaze Computer Backup is an active, evolving mirror of the current state of your computer and drives. Before you begin, take a look at Backblaze Computer Backup Best Practices.
Create and Set up an Account
- Sign up for a Backblaze account.
- Enter your email address.
- Check your email, and click the link to verify your email address.
You may need to cut and paste the link from your email into your browser. The validation link expires after 30 days. - Enter and confirm a password.
Account usernames and passwords must conform to the following criteria:- Must be less than or equal to 99 characters in length.
- Must not contain ASCII control characters.
- A password can contain multiple instances of the 'at sign' (@), but an email address can have only one instance.
- Does not begin with or end with a space character.
- Select a data region.
- Optionally, set Up Extended Version History.
- Optionally, enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Install the Client
After you set up your Backblaze account, install the client on your computer to automatically back up your data.
Configure Settings
After you install the software on your computer, you can configure and optimize settings and system preferences such as setting up a backup schedule, configuring performance and power settings, and assigning exclusions.
