Locate My Computer

Backblaze can help recover your lost computer or stolen laptop if it is connected to a network again.

Find a Lost Computer

1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
2. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Locate My Computer.
3. Ensure that mapping is enabled.
4. Ensure that location services are enabled on your operating system.
   • Turn on location services (Mac).
   • Turn on location services (Windows).
5. Click Map This to view your computer's last reported location.

Disable the Locate My Computer Feature

You can disable the Locate My Computer feature if you do not want Backblaze to access your computer's location.

1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
2. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Locate My Computer.
3. Click Turn Off to disable this feature and stop all tracking.

After you disable this feature at the account level, each Backblaze Computer Backup installation that is registered to the account automatically disables its own location services function as long as version 7.0.1.452 or newer is installed. This change may take some time.
