The Photos app on a Mac computer stores its data in a package file called Photos Library.photoslibrary
. The Photos Library contains the original image files for your photos, plus associated metadata like edits, ratings, albums, slideshows, and faces. When Backblaze Computer Backup backs up your Pictures folder, it backs up the entire Photos Library, which appears as a folder when you view it in your backup in the Backblaze web console.
- Create a restore of the entire Photos Library folder. It is possible to restore individual image files, but the associated metadata is lost without the entire Photos Library package.
- Download the restore of your Photos Library.
- Unzip and extract the folder from the ZIP file.
- Move the restored
Photos Library.photoslibrary
package to the Pictures folder on your computer at the path/Users/your username/Pictures
.
