Participating in Powered by Backblaze allows you to customize the user experience using your own brand to offer a complete solution leveraging B2 Cloud Storage. Our straightforward pricing—with no hidden fees, no delete penalties, and 3x free egress—means that you can offer cloud storage in your solutions and improve your margins allowing you to make more money and lower the total cost of the solution to your customers.
Powered by Backblaze can assist Backblaze Alliance Partners, independent software vendors (ISVs) and software as a service (SaaS) companies with the ability to seamlessly integrate Backblaze’s S3 compatible cloud storage API into their software without the complexity of building and maintaining their own storage infrastructure. By doing so, they enhance their offerings by incorporating object storage, providing customers with reliable data storage with seamless access and quick data retrieval.
Managed service providers (MSPs) can benefit from Powered by Backblaze by packaging Backblaze’s back end object storage as part of their solutions, offering additional value to their clients. Without any capital investment, MSPs can enhance their service portfolio and increase average revenue per user (ARPU) by providing reliable storage options.
Custom Domains are a part of the Powered by Backblaze program and allow you to deliver data under the domain or URL of your choosing. The service combines canonical name records with cloud object storage to help you deliver the seamless UX you envision—with no need for you to deal with complex code or proxy servers.
Custom Domain functionality combines CNAME and Backblaze B2 Object Storage, enabling the use of your preferred domain name in your files’ web domain or URLs. Backblaze by default provides a domain name for distribution that includes the Backblaze name, such as s3.us-west-004.backblazeb2.com. Custom Domain allows you to use your own domain name, such as techpartner.com, instead of the backblazeb2.com domain name in your distribution for an improved user experience.
The process begins by pointing your domain’s DNS records to Backblaze. This step is straightforward and involves configuring your domain settings to direct traffic to Backblaze servers. By doing so, you ensure that requests for your custom domain are routed to the appropriate Backblaze resources.
Once your DNS records are correctly set up, Backblaze handles the rest of the installation process. Our systems recognize incoming requests for your domain and route them appropriately for fast activation. Backblaze generates SSL certificates for your custom domain for added security. These certificates enable secure communication between your users’ browsers and Backblaze servers.
With SSL in place, data transmitted to and from domains remains encrypted, safeguarding sensitive information. No need to worry about certificate expirations—Backblaze automates SSL certificate renewals on your behalf.
Backblaze Partner API allows you to automate tasks essential to provisioning users with seamless access to cloud storage. Create account and Group members, organize accounts in Group, list Groups, and remove Group members. Once configured, you can manage Group members’ Backblaze B2 accounts, including: uploading, downloading, and deleting files, as well as creating and managing the Buckets that hold files.
