We’ve had a great crop of interns this summer and the last one to join us was Nelly! She joins me in the marketing department and helped with a lot of my podcasting projects. One of her tasks over the three weeks that she was with us was to listen to almost 200 podcasts to see which ones had a good sponsorship read! We then used that information to purchase some podcast ads! Listening to podcasts for almost a month? Not a bad gig! Lets learn a bit more about Nelly shall we?
What is your Backblaze Title?
Marketing Intern
Where are you originally from?
My mom is originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. And my dad is from Birmingham, England. I was born and raised in San Francisco, California.
What attracted you to Backblaze?
I was attracted to a start up company and what it would be like to run a business and work with other people. Lastly, Backblaze helps people backup their files which is so important because people have family photos, work documents, and other essential files that cannot be lost. I like to help people and I wanted to be of some service.
What do you expect to learn while being at Backblaze?
I expect to learn about marketing and how to do it, and how it helps the company. I also kinda want to learn about how to be an entrepreneur and run a business.
Where else have you worked?
I have worked as a referee for San Francisco Youth Soccer.
Where did you go to school?
I currently go to school at Gateway High School.
What’s your dream job?
Architect or Entrepreneur.
Favorite place you’ve traveled?
Spain.
Favorite hobby?
Hanging out with friends and family, taking my dog for walks, and stalking people of instagram.
Of what achievement are you most proud?
Probably winning student of the year at my middle school.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
Definitely Star Wars! Star Trek is as fake as plastic. It’s almost as bad as Spaceballs.
Coke or Pepsi?
Coke (the real stuff).
Favorite food?
Mediterranean cuisine.
Why do you like certain things?
That’s a good question, I don’t really know. I think I’m human?!
We’ll have to talk a little about that Spaceballs hate. It’s a classic! Thanks for all the help this summer Nelly!
