    Article Summary

You can set a backup schedule in the Backblaze Computer Backup client.

    Schedule Options

You can select one of the following options for your backup schedule:

    • Continuous (Recommended)
The Backblaze client alternates between scanning for new and changed files and periodically uploads them to the Backblaze data center. This backup typically occurs once per hour.
If you use this schedule, the Backup Now option only resumes a paused backup, and does not begin a new backup because backups happen continuously.
    • Once Per Day
The Backblaze client indexes new and changed files in the background, but only uploads them to Backblaze servers only during the scheduled time that you select.
If you use this setting, the Backup Now option initiates a backup only during the defined time frame, if it is not already in progress.
    • Only When I Click <Backup Now>
File indexing and backups occur only when you click Backup Now.
