    Cancel Backblaze Computer Backup

    To cancel a Backblaze Computer Backup subscription, remove all of the registered backups and licenses. To remove a single backup and license, use the following steps. Repeat these steps for each backup and license pair that should be deleted. 

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
    2. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Preferences.
    3. Locate the backup to be deleted, and click Delete Backup.
      A confirmation code is emailed to the email address that is attached to the account.
    4. Enter the confirmation code, and click Continue.
      Upon confirmation, this action immediately and irreversibly deletes the data that is contained in the backup.
    5. In the left navigation menu under Computer Backup, click Overview.
    6. Scroll to the Unused License section, and click Delete to proceed with the deletion.

    Delete a Backblaze Account

    After an account is deactivated, you can delete the account entirely. Deleting an account immediately prevents logins to the account, as well as rendering access to any data within the account inaccessible. If you require invoices or other account-level data for your records, you should download that data prior to deletion. 

    In addition to the above conditions, an account must not be a member of a group, and the account must not have any groups for which they are an administrator. If you are the admin of a group for which there are other admins, another admin has the ability to remove you as an administrator. However, if you are the sole admin, the group must be dissolved to remove you as the admin of that group. For more information, see Leave a Group and Dissolve a Group.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
    2. In the left navigation menu under Account, click My Settings.
    3. Click Delete Account.
    4. Confirm the deletion using one of the following options depending on the security measures that you implemented on your account:
      • If you enabled single sign-on (SSO), a code is sent to your email address.
      • If you enabled two-factor verification (2FV) time-based one-time password (TOTP), enter the code that is displayed in your app.
      • If you enabled 2FV short messaging service (SMS), enter the code that is sent to your phone.
      • If you registered a phone number to your account, enter the code that is sent to your phone.
      • If your email was verified, enter the code that is sent to that registered email address.
      • If none of the above situations apply, enter your account password.
    Note
    Codes for SMS and email can be resent. You have two minutes to complete the account deletion before you are asked to verify again.
